How to create PFD

  1. Choose the Product
  2. Check of the Boms list below has any PFDs for the selected product.
  3. If there are any existing PFD, ensure that the PFD you would like to enter does not already exists.
  4. Click on the button `Create New Process' to start creating the PFD.
  5. A window will open where you have to enter

    1. Number of subprocesses - enter number of stages excluding the final stage (which might usually be 'Final Inspection')
    2. Enter the prefix for the subproducts (example OPN)
    3. Enter the Starting Sequence number (example 10 or 30) and the Increment Sequence number (example 10) .
    4. Click Go
    5. The list of subproducts will be shown below. In each line, choose the logical class for each stage product, Operation for that stage from the operations dropdown (example CUTTING/CNC Turning/VMC etc), cycle time (time taken to process 1 item in that stage), Production Stage (optional) from the dropdown (example CUT BLANK, MACHINED)
    6. After the list of subproducts, select Final Operation from the drop provided and enter the Cycle Time for the final operation.
    7. Select the Raw Material used for this product from the dropdown provided.
    8. Once you have checked and verified all the details in the PFD, click on 'Create Product and Sub Products'

    The subproducts will be created and new screen will be shown to collect the Gross weight and additional details of each process. A list of all the subproducts will be shown.

    1. In the first row, enter the gross weight of the Raw Material used for producing 1 item of the first stage.
    2. In the subsequent rows, enter the Output Quantity from the previous stage and the Input Quantity used for the next stage. For example, one item from previous stage may be cut into 2 pieces. In this case Output Qtyshould be entered as 2. If this cut piece is processed as a single piecce for the next stage, Inpu Quanty should be entered as 1.
    3. If a stage is outsourced. select the Outsourced option from the 'Internal/Oursourced' dropdown.
    4. Once all the fields are checked, click on `Save' button.
    5. The PFD would be created and you can view this using the Process Diagram screen.
